.IT IS ALWAYS A REAL GOOD IDEA TO WARM UP BEFORE DANCING AS YOU WILL FEEL MORE LIMBER AND RELAXED AND YOU WON'T WAKE UP IN THE MORNING WITH THAT THROBBING IN YOUR' LEGS. HERE ARE A COUPLE OF WARM UPS-----RUNNER'S STRETCH--STAND WITH ONE LEG FORWARD AND THE OTHER BACK(ABOUT 21/2 FEET APART) BEND YOUR' FRONT LEG' AND KEEP YOUR' BACK LEG STRAIGHT. LEAN FORWARD, PUTTING YOUR' WEIGHT INTO FRONT LEG,SO YOU FEEL THE STRETCH IN YOUR' CALF. HOLD FOR 30 SECS AND THEN SWITCH LEGS AND REPEAT        QUAD STRETCHES.--STANDING TAKE ONE LEG AND PULL IT BACK BEHIND YOU AND HOLD FOR 30 SECS THEN SWITCH.


ANYONE WHO HAS EVER CLOGGED KNOWS HOW MUCH FUN IT IS BUT DO YOU REALIZE HOW HEALTHY IT IS FOR YOU.CLOGGING IS A FORM OF DANCE THAT MEETS ALL THE CRITERIA OF "TOTAL EXERCISE". CLOGGING INVOLVES THE USE OF ALL THE LARGE MUSCLES OF THE BODY AND WITH CLOGGERS DOING ALOT OF POINTING AND FLEXING THIS ALLOWS THEM TO DEVELOP MUSCULAR STRENGTH AND MUSCULAR ENDURANCE.WHEN YOU CLOG,YOU USE THE MUSCLES IN THE FRONT OF YOUR LEG EVERY TIME YOU POINT YOUR TOES IN THE DIRECTION OF THE FLOOR AND WHEN THE FOOT IS IN A FLEXED POSITION,YOU USE THE MUSCLES IN THE BACK OF THE LEGS.WHEN YOU CLOG YOU TAKE IN MORE THAN USUAL AMOUNT OF OXYGEN SO THIS MEANS BURNING CALORIES.THIS ENABLES YOU TO SPEED UP THE RATE YOU BURN AND TO RID THE LUNGS OF CARBON DIOXIDE.CLOGGING WILL TRAIN THE HEART AND LUNGS TO WORK MORE EFFICIENTLY,BRINGING MORE OXYGEN TO THE BODY AND TO THE WORKING MUSCLES WITH LESS EFFORT.DON'T EVER THINK THAT YOU HAVE TO DANCE EXACTLY THE SAME WAY EVERYONE ELSE DOES.WE ALL WORK WITH INDIVIDUAL PROPORTIONED BODIES AND YOU PROGRESS AT YOUR OWN LEVEL.ALL DANCE MOVEMENTS BEGIN IN THE CENTRE OF THE BODY AND MOVE OUT.ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BODY WEIGHT LIFTED AND THE WAISTLINE HELD TALL AND BREATH NATURALLY AND FREELY AS POSSIBLE.HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELF                 by--dewey and bobbie paul---dayton,ohio
